Here is one of the distinctions between R&A and other work surface suppliers. No other fabricator locally offers both stone and acrylic. That’s because the two materials are produced in markedly different ways, stone being a wet trade, acrylic dry.
We wanted to offer a complete range of work surfaces because we believe many customers want to deal with a local company that care about the quality of the surfaces they produce. That’s why we’ve created sectioned off areas in the factory, so we can work in wet and dry areas simultaneously, and thus are able to offer acrylic, as well as granite.
Acrylic solid surfaces are unique and offer a high level of beauty, quality, innovation, flexibility and performance. The adage of ‘the only limitation is your imagination’ is true for acrylic.
There are a myriad of acrylic worktop brands in the UK.
The main brands we work with are Corian, Tristone, Mistral, Minerva, LG Hi Macs, Staron and Hanex.
Corian is such a successful brand of acrylic, that it’s become a generic term, much the same as Hoover used to be synonymous with vacuum cleaning!
Corian has become the brand leader due to its design possibilities.
It can be cut, moulded, curved, shaped and heated, so if you can design it, you can create it.
Colour matched sinks, vanity basins, even commercial wash troughs are available.
There are over 90 colours available in the UK for Corian. So whatever colour scheme you desire, you can achieve it.
Unlike stone, Corian will not absorb any liquids regardless of standing time, making it suitable for high traffic areas like kitchens and serveries.
The joints between acrylic surfaces can be smoothed and sanded, rendering them seamless and inconspicuous. This makes a Corian surface perfect if you don’t want to see the joins!!

All these brands of acrylic are good quality solid surfaces and offer some distinct patterns.
All the solid surface brands have excellent websites, where colour samples can be viewed and ordered directly.
We offer this extensive portfolio of acrylic brands because we want to offer our customers the widest range possible, that way you can achieve exactly the colour you are hoping for, to complement the rest of your scheme.
